Illinois Court Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP) 

 

General Assistance   Township residents with little or no income and who meet certain requirements may apply at the Supervisor’s Office for help with rent, utilities and/or groceries. The application process for General Assistance takes 30 days to process. Contact the Supervisor’s Office- 618-259-2366

 

 

Federal Food Bank For Persons 60 years and older-Wood River Township Residents only

Must qualify through application at the Clerk’s office. The food box comes once a month on the 2nd Thursday of the month and is a box of commodities.  For more information call the Clerk’s office 618-259-7260

Riverbend Family Ministries Utility Assistance Update April 2024

In light of the recent news regarding the depletion of current Low-Income Energy
Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding, Riverbend Family Ministries remains dedicated
to working closely with our network of partners and local government agencies to
assist as many people as possible here in Madison County.
RFM offers utility assistance for residents of Madison County. As we are experiencing
an increased call volume, please carefully review our eligibility criteria at

We aim to ensure that our available resources can effectively support our community
members during these challenging times. Please note that our services are limited to
those who reside within Madison County. You have to have lived at that residence for
at least 6 months, and the balance of what you owe cannot exceed $1,000.

Our Client Service Department is open Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Call for information to get an application for eligibility to set up rides to doctor’s visits ect.

Must be 65 or older or doctor verified medical disability.  To register as a senior over 65, which is the quicker route, without needing a doctor verification, call the number above to request an application. Person applying will need a phot copy of State ID or State Driver’s License to complete the application. Still Call the number above to apply with a doctor verified medical disability.

 

Bethalto Senior Citizen Center Van

Wood River Township, Fort Russell Township & the Village of Bethalto have partnered together

to provide this Senior Ride program.

The Van is available to Bethalto area Senior Citizens only and can be used for Doctors appointments,

grocery shopping trips or even attending events at the Senior Citizens Center in Bethalto.

 

Appointments to set up rides must be made a day in advance.

Call 618-377-5263 weekdays between 9AM-11:10 AM to schedule a ride.

Illinois Court Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP) provides funding to Illinois tenants and landlords across the state who have pending cases in eviction court. The program is only available to litigants in eviction court. The program is managed by the Illinois Housing Development Authority for more information, go to the link below.
